BYO…Big Cup of Iced Tea {Scott Naturals Giveaway 4!}

I always think of myself as being green, but I realize there are areas where I can certainly improve.

We use eco-friendly light bulbs. I pack my daughter’s lunch with a cloth napkin. I garden organically. I buy lots of organic foods.

But I had an epiphany the other day that made me take another step.

When I drop my daughter off at school in the morning, I pop through a drive thru close to my work and grab a huge $1 iced tea. All well and good, right?

But at the end of the work day I tossed the big plastic cup into a box I have to bring my recyclables home and I realized that even recycling all of those cups…5 a week…that it’s still A LOT of wasted resources!

So when I was out shopping that evening, I picked up a huge insulated cup with a lid and handle that I can use to bring my own iced tea to work.

For the rest of the work week I brought in herbal mango iced tea, which quite frankly tastes better than the fast food tea anyway.

Even though I recycled all of those plastic cups from my daily iced tea, just think of all the people who toss them in the trash! It’s the small things like bringing your own cup for iced tea or coffee that can add up and make a big difference.
