I read your other blog about Cheerios. We have also eliminated the high sugar cereals from our diet. However, Cheerios are one of the cereals that we have eliminated, not because of sugar, but because there is so little fiber and protein. We try to keep the sugar grams at 10 or less, but we also want dietary fiber and protein to be at least 5. We've found that we will go a bit higher on sugar (up to 12 or 13) in order to get the fiber and protein counts. So, we purchase mini wheats, oatmeal squares, vanilla cluster of honey bunches and sometimes cracklin oat bran, in addition to bear naked granola. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Tracy- My two-year-old son is the Cheerio lover, a hold-over from munching on them as a toddler. He likes them in his snack cup and I like them too.

My daughter likes Banana Nut Crunch. Mostly because it's "daddy's cereal."

Both of my kids LOVE oatmeal. I buy the organic brands (Schnuck's has a store brand called Full Circle or we buy Earth's Best at Toys 'R Us at a better price than the grocery stores). Apple cinnamon is their favorite. It does have 27-30 g Carbs depending on the brand.

Me, I like steel cut oats, but who has the time!

We only eat cereal about once a week. My kids are big on yogurt, waffles, pancakes, and oatmeal in the morning. And of course bananas!
