The amount that I have been using my iPhone is definitely worth the $200 I shelled out for the 3G S. I am so glad that I saved my pennies (and dollars) for about six months awaiting the release of the new model which features a higher megapixel camera and video, glorious video. Maybe I should have gone even a little further and got the 32 GB model.
Where it does wonders: still lifes. Yes, anything that is nailed down can produce wonderful photos.
Like this tropical flower at the Butterfly House.
Running kids, not so much. A lot of the pictures of my children are on the blurry side because they move before the camera has a chance to respond.
That being said, I have taken a ton of great video footage of them over the past few weeks. I have always said that we film our kids so much more since getting the Flip Mino. But the fact that I always have my iPhone with me means that I can quickly catch my two monkeys on film.
Where it’s a total fail: When you hand it to a stranger, tell them to hold it still, and ask them to photograph you with a celeb like Carson freakin’ Kressley.
Are the pictures a high enough resolution to print large? Who knows. I haven’t tried. But how many photos do you actually print out these days? Same goes for the video. It plays back nicely on the computer, but I haven’t attempted to watch it on the big screen.
For so many reasons, the photos being just one of them, I would marry my iPhone if I could.
