Parent Bloggers Network and the Big Tent asked what people are going to do to get their act together in 2009.
Well I think I will have to take a two-pronged approach to getting my three-ring circus in order.
I wish I could say that my New Year's resolution was as easy as say, making my bed every morning. (Which ain't happening, by the way.)
Here are the two areas where I need work:
1. Clutter, clutter, clutter.
If it wasn't for the fact that our cleaning lady comes every other Tuesday, I would be drowning in clutter. The night before and the morning that she comes, it is a mad dash to get everything put away or thrown away (recycling, of course). I hope to keep a little better control of the things that seem to pile up.
2. Eat breakfast. And I don't mean spending $6 at Starbucks at 9:30 after preschool drop off before I get to the office.
In the morning I get everyone else fed and clothed, but that usually means I am running out the door with an empty stomach.
I just wish I wasn't so bored with the normal breakfast options. The kids eat a balanced breakfast, but mine usually consists of a decaf white chocolate mocha and a slice of pumpkin loaf. Heaven on earth, but not so good for the pocketbook or the waist.
Seem easy? At least I didn't say I was going to go from couch to marathon in 3 weeks or get into a size 6 by Easter.
