Positive.
Intelligent.
Honorable.
Presidential.
I can't imagine that a single American who watched future President Barack Obama on television tonight couldn't agree and relate to the messages.
How fantastic would that be to finally have a president who is actually presidential. Who is committed to solving energy problems. Who wants people to afford medical care and education. Who wants people to have secure jobs and retirement.
I don't think it's all hype. I think that you just get a feeling when someone is genuine and when someone is not.
When I listen to President Bush I wince at his mispronunciations, his seeming lack of intelligence, his unwillingness to do something good for the people instead of looking out only for big business. I see an obstinate man who stands by his bad decisions rather than change course and try to make rights. I am embarrassed that he was elected not once, but twice. Embarrassed that he represents our nation.
When I look at McCain I see an angry old man. I see a man married into wealth. A man who has changed so much since his last run for the office. A man out of touch with the every American. I see someone who kowtows to his party instead of holding steadfast to what he personally believes.
Six days.
In six days the country will finally right its course.
In six days Americans will finally find hope that the American way of life is still attainable and maintainable.
In six days we can finally feel proud to live in this fine country.
In six days we can finally see that change is possible.
